Gaonkar Memorial Dialysis Center

Bapuji Childrens Home Trust realized the plight of poor patients from the society who need regular Heandiadys two to three times a week at the commercial cost of over Rs. 1000/- per session. Bapuji Children’s Home Trust thus planned to start and run a Dialysis Center on Charitable, Non-profit basis for the benefit of the needy poor patients of the society.

The Dialysis center “Gaonkar Memorial Dialysis Center” in memory of late Mr. V.S. Gaonkar whose estate has provided major seed funding to start this project through Hari Murari Charitable Trust, Mysore. The center is located at # 5, Gokulam 4th Stage, Opposite Sikh Gurudwara, Mysore - 570020.

This center with 5 machines has been started in an existing wing of the old age home so that we could save the investment in Land and building at the present time.

This is the first stand-alone Dialysis center in Mysore and has the support of all the Nephrologists of Mysore. (Namely Dr. K.C. Gurudev, Dr. Manjunath Shetty, Dr. Srinivas Nalloor and Dr. P. Srinivasan) The Nephrologists refer their poor patients to this center for maintenance dialysis but the patients continue to be under the care and monitoring of their referring Nephrologists.

At the present time we provide dialysis to poor patients at an all inclusive cost of Rs. 500/- per session.

The Unit has all facilities for Hemodialysis and first aid support for complications. The patients will be shifted to a hospital of their choice in case of emergencies. The referring Nephrologists are constantly auditing quality of service.

With the good wishes of all the supporters, this center was inaugurated on 27th December 2010 and put into operation on 20th Jan 2011.
